
Ms. Elmus Ezell, 92, of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 14, 2024, with her family by her side.
She was born Sunday, February 14, 1932, the loving daughter of the late Edgar and Geneva Mathis Ezell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her brother: Elton Ezell; sister: Coraleah Gibbs; nephew: Richard Allen Gibbs; and niece: Gina Lynn Buttrey.
Elmus first job was with King, Northington and Frost Insurance Company. She continued her work as a secretary for many insurances company.
She also enjoyed working as a teacher’s assistant with Clarksville Montgomery County school system, where she retired. She actively worked until 85 years old.
Elmus loved the Lord and served in the Methodist church. She enjoyed playing the piano every Sunday for Big Rock Methodist Church.
After moving to Clarksville, she served in St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed going to gospel concerts and church conferences.
Elmus loved to travel and looked forward to visiting and vacations to the mountains with her loving family and friends.
She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
She loved everyone and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her loving family: brother, Tony Ezell (Annette); sisters: Linda Jolly (Douglas), Shirley Buttrey, and Rita Hawkins; nephews: Michael Ezell, Barry Ezell, Ryan Hawkins, Wesley Buttrey, Rex Hawkins, Dax Jolly, Rodney Hawkins, and Marshall Yarbrough; nieces: Teresa Ezell, Suzette Ezell, Rhonda Herndon, Toni Smith, Lynnette Poston, and Kelly Bayliss; many great nieces, and nephews.
A visitation and funeral service will be held Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Ernie Arnold officiating.
Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Big Rock, Tennessee. Those serving as pallbearers are Dax Jolly, Barry Ezell, Wesley Buttrey, Rex Hawkins, Rodney Hawkins and Luke Poston.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Elmus name be made to Smith Cemetery.
