Springville, Tenn.–All of the seasonally closed areas of the Tennessee and Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuges will open this Saturday March 16th at dawn.
This includes seasonally closed waters, roads and boat ramps, hiking trails and shoreline areas. The only areas that will remain closed are those areas adjacent to an active bald eagle nest. Those areas will remain closed until the eaglets fledge (leave the nest) and will be marked with posted signs.
On the Tennessee NWR, the bald eagle enclosures include a section along the Blue Goose Blvd in the Duck River Bottoms. On Cross Creeks, the bald eagle closures include the area around Spout Springs.
