Mrs. Dorthy Nell Nunn, 81, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2024, at Signature Healthcare Nursing Home.
She was born Friday, March 20, 1942, in Bethlehem, Kentucky. She is the beloved daughter of the late Willian Ervin and Gertie Chadwick Downs.
Dorthy loved working in her flower gardens. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed reading.
Dorthy loved the Lord and a faithful servant.
She was a member of Mt. View Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Dover, Tennessee.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband: Aubrey Gene Nunn, who she married on Saturday, February 21, 1959; son: Stanley Nunn; brothers: Howard Downs and Bruce Downs; and sister: Murtle Hicks.
Dorthy leaves behind the family she loved dearly: son: Mark Nunn and wife: Belinda, of Dover, Tennessee; daughter-in-law: Regena Nunn; brother: Tony Downs, of Dover, Tennessee; sister: Pearl Birdsong, of Murray, Kentucky; grandchildren: Lance Nunn (Britni), Devin Nunn and Colin Nunn; great grandchildren, Elleri Nunn and Bennett Nunn; many nieces and nephews.
A visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Mt. View Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm and continue until the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Bro. Ronnie Burgess officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
