Milan, Tenn.–Wade Comer has been named the new head football coach for Milan High School.
“I am excited to announce Wade Comer as the new Milan High School head football coach,” Milan Schools Superintendent Jonathan Criswell said Tuesday morning as it was announced. “Coach Comer has the championship coaching experience we were looking for and a legacy of developing young men into great leaders. I’m excited for our team to begin the process with Coach Comer toward another fall of victorious Bulldog football.”
Comer replaces Derek Carr, who left to take the head coaching job at Lexington two weeks ago.
Comer has built a legacy in McKenzie as the head coach for the past 24 seasons, with a 209-90 record. In recent years, Comer has led the McKenzie Rebels to the Class 1A state championship for the last three years, with a state title in 2022 (and one before that in 2007).
