Paris, Tenn.–People lined streets in downtown Paris this morning to say a final solemn goodbye to Don Ridgeway. The Ridgeway family left the funeral home and moved down West Wood Street for the private burial ceremony at Rose Lawn Memory Garden and Mausoleum. Several people at the courthouse had expressed their desire to line the courthouse sidewalk to show their love and support for County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway and the Ridgeway family, and a number of people participated beyond the courthouse, too. Ridgeway was a long-time public servant, having served as a State Representative for 18 years afterwhich he served as the Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council Director for 21 years. A crowded public Celebration of Life was held Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Paris. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
