
National School Breakfast Week was celebrated across Tennessee and the Harrelson Hawks Cafeteria was chosen as a site to showcase on Thursday, March 7th.
Tennessee Department of Education School Nutrition Director, Bill Byford; TDOE School Nutrition Northwest Regional Consultant, Trista Snider; TDOE School Nutrition Program Specialist, Randa Meade; USDA Southeast Deputy Regional Administrator, Izra Brown, and USDA Southeast Regional Office Program Specialist, Natasha Nelson joined Henry County School System Director of School Nutrition, Tiffany Latta and the Harrelson Nutrition team.
Students enjoyed their Banana Split Sundae breakfast on Thursday morning and enjoyed a weeklong celebration with a “Surf’s Up with School Breakfast” theme.
“Eating a nourishing breakfast is essential for students to be prepared to learn and we are pleased the breakfast program at Dorothy & Noble Harrelson School in Henry County Schools is being highlighted as part of National School Breakfast Week,” said Lizzette Reynolds, Commissioner of Education. “ In Henry County and across the state, we emphasize the importance of fueling all our students for success in the classroom.”
