Joe F. Johnson, 86, of Springville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Henry County Medical Center.
Joe Johnson was born Thursday, October 14, 1937, in Bethel Springs, McNairy County, Tennessee, to the late Felin Johnson and the late Vassie Melton Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church.
He worked as a meat cutter at Kroger for 34 years.
Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and playing his guitar.
Joe married Jean Leary Johnson Saturday, August 4, 1956, and she preceded him in death Monday, May 11, 2020.
Besides his parents and wife, Joe is also preceded in death by sons: Nicky Johnson and Michael Johnson; sisters: Rachael Johnson and Arlene Dowdy; and brothers: Flowing, Willie, Paul, and R.C. Johnson.
He is survived by his daughter: Susie (Steve) Parker, of Springville; sons: Ricky Johnson, of Buchanan, and Rocky (Kathy) Johnson, of Union City; grandchildren: Hunter (Jessica) Johnson, Crystal (Perry) Reeves, Bobby (Missy) Johnson, Cannon (Kristen) Johnson, Amy Knott, Traci Allen, Ashlyn Brooke Johnson, Joey “Nick” (Corrie) Johnson, Allison (Clay) Langley, Angie Mosley, Jason (Anna) Parker; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Robert McBroom of Point Pleasant Baptist Church conducting.
Burial will follow the service in Birds Creek Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are: Joey “Nick” Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Perry Reeves, Cannon Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Miles Allen, Sylis Allen, and Jacob Knott.
Visitation is scheduled at McEvoy from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
