Paris, Tenn.–We’re down to the wire. One more day to go. And the second to the last day was a big one.

Even with only two groups donating items today, $13,864 was raised for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, bringing the year-to-date total to $389,990. Donating 18 slates of unique items today were the Mineral Wells Animal Clinic and Lakeway Village shopping center. And the bids were high–for instance, a German Chocolate cake went for $250. Auctioneer today was Junior Staggs, with the Kiwanis Club manning the phones.

Wednesday is the last day of the 2024 Helping Hand auction and as is tradition, it’s Open to Anyone Day. There are several leftover and big dollar items also up for bid tomorrow, as well as all the freezers and refrigerators that were donated to use during the two months of the auction.

All the auctioneers usually take turns during the last afternoon.

You can listen to our station WHNY 104.7 FM and 1000 AM and on our website. You can see the slates and listen on the Henry County Helping Hand website. Or you can watch in person at the Paris Convention Center.

Auction begins at 12:30 p.m.
To bid, the auction phone is 731 644 1695.
Helping Hand runs from January 8 through February 28 and raises thousands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit and public service organizations. Last year was a banner year, with a record-setting $519,630 raised.
