Jackson, Tenn.–Izzy Arthurs, formerly of Paris, this week took the top spot at the Tennessee Songwriters Week Showcase at Memphis’ LaFayette Music Room.
Izzy will take her original song to The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville this March, showcasing her talent alongside six other finalists from across Tennessee. Izzy will perform her song, “Long Time Coming” March 24.
Izzy said, “I’m ecstatic and honored! It has been an amazing experience thus far, and I’m grateful for even the opportunity to play at such a historic venue. I’m also grateful to be an artist in Tennessee where the craft of songwriting is celebrated. My love for storytelling and performance began when I was a kid taking music, art, and dance classes in Paris.”
Arthurs is now a junior at the University of Mississipi and has been pursuing her musical dreams for years now.
Her parents are Ruth Montgomery and Jim Arthurs. She was born and raised in Paris, but now calls Jackson home.
Tony
