Jessie A. Alder, 86, of Paris, Tennessee, died Thursday, February 14, 2024, at AHC of Paris.

Jessie was born Wednesday, August 25, 1937, in Paris, Tennessee, to the late Otis Chester Williams and the late Katie Elizabeth Snow.

She retired as head of housekeeping for the Hotel & Inn at Paris Landing State Park.

She was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church since 1974, where she was active in & loved the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU).

 Jessie was a big supporter of the Western District Association of Baptists and Tomorrow’s Hope.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and loved her family.

She was married Friday, July 4, 1980, to William Alder, who preceded her in death Wednesday, January 9, 2008.

She is survived by five children: Nancy (Ed) Phillips, of Springville, Tennessee, Karen Malinowski, of Jackson, Tennessee, Michael J. Malinowski, of Paris, Tennessee, Keith D. Malinowski, of Missouri, and Joseph W. Malinowski, of California; three brothers: John O. Williams, of Georgia, Donald Glen Williams, of Opp, Alabama, and Ronald David (Socorra) Williams, of Indiana; five grandchildren: Andrew (Kelley) Jackson, of Oakland, Tennessee, Matthew (Amanda) Jackson, of Paris, Tennessee, Mark (Heyling) Jackson, of Pensacola, Florida, Anthony Young, of Paris, Tennessee, and Nick Young, of Paris, Tennessee; and four great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Emily, Abel, and Eva.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Jones Chapel Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee, with Malcolm Norton officiating.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
