U.S. 51 between Newbern and Dyersburg was closed for several hours today after a crash into a TDOT attenuator in a work zone. TDOT officials said, “This job is dangerous and we beg you to see us when we are out working in our office on the highway. This is not ok!! The highway is our office and we need everyone to understand the dangers of our work!” TDOT has not released details of the crash, but did post photos on its social media.
