Dwain Wesley Cooper

Dwain Wesley Cooper, 74, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, died Saturday, February 10, 2024, at his residence.

Dwain was born Tuesday, May 3, 1949, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late Dennis Wesley Cooper and the late Myrtle Adams Cooper. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters: Christine Hanks, Moline Fitzpatrick, and Deloy White; and two brothers: Venoy Cooper and Joe Wilson.

He graduated from Palmersville High School in Palmersville, Tennessee, then went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin where he received a bachelor’s degree in math and chemistry.

Dwain loved hunting, fishing, and working in his garden.

He enjoyed watching the University of Tennessee men’s and women’s basketball.

He retired from Emerson Electric in Paris.

He was married Tuesday, February 6, 1968, to Lawanna Todd Cooper, who survives, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his son: John Wesley Cooper, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee; two grandchildren: Bryan Cooper, and Zac (Savannah) Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Bryan Cooper, Zac Cooper, Phillip White, Alex Edwards, Anthony Edwards, and Quberto Muniz.

Burial will be in South Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Hazel, Kentucky.
