Thomas G. “Tom” Isbell

Thomas G. “Tom” Isbell, 90, of Paris, Tennessee, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Tom was born Sunday, November 26, 1933, in Trimble, Tennessee, to the late Allen Sinclair Isbell and the late Katie Mai Hinson Isbell.

He retired after many years from Chrysler in St. Louis, Mossouri.

He was a Baptist by belief.

Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling.

He loved doing handyman work and could fix up any project for his family.

He was married Saturday, February 17, 1951, to Betty J. McRee Isbell who died Sunday, March 29, 2020.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by two sons: Thomas Richard Isbell and Dariel Ray Isbell; three brothers: William Robert Isbell, Billy Joe Isbell, and John R. Isbell; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by four children: Deborah “Deb” Wampler, of Paris, Tennessee, Rita (Thomas) Robertson, of Arnold, Missouri, Roger (Susan) Isbell, of Valley Park, Missouri, and Donna (Byron) Eller, of Paris, Tennessee; two brothers: Jimmie Isbell, of Paris, Tennessee, and Don (Nell) Isbell, of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters: Sarah McFarland and Sue McGee, both of Paris; two daughters-in-law: Shirley Isbell, of Marion, Illinois, and Sherry Isbell, of Otto, Missouri; several grandchildren;  great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Johnny Patterson officiating.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove, Tennessee.
