
Helen “Dianne” Marquess, 70, of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Tennova Medical Center.
She was born in Cadiz, Kentucky, Thursday, September 10, 1953, to the late John (Jack) Heaton and Bonnie Wallace Burton. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister: Cindy Heaton; and grandparents: Berry and Birdie Wallace.
She was retired from the Stewart County School System.
Dianne loved the Lord with all her heart.
She was a faithful member of Bumpus Mills Missionary Baptist Church.
Her happiest times were at church and being with her family.
The brightest times were being “Granny” to her sweet Claire.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years: Payton Marquess, of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee; mother: Bonnie Burton; son: John Marquess, of White House, Tennessee; daughter: Jenny Hyde (Brian), of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee; her precious granddaughter: Claire Marquess; great-grandchildren: Graham and Knox; her sisters: Bernice Taylor, Lana Hinson, both of Dover, Tennessee, and Loretta Nichols (Marshall), of Erin, Tennessee; brother: Barry Wilson (Audra), of McEwen, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Bumpus Mills Baptist Church Cemetery Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with her dear pastor she loved: Bro Jerry Shelton, officiating.
Those serving as pallbearers: her dear nephews: Rex Marquess and great-nephews: Zach Marquess, Tyler Marquess, Barry Wilson, Marshall Nichols, Scott Shuel, Chuck Gant, and Ken Wallace. Honorary pallbearers: Phillip Wallace, Gary “The Gov” Wallace, Junior Miller, Gene Knight, and Ralph Shelton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Dianne’s memory to her church, Bumpus Mills Missionary Baptist Church.
