Helping Hand Radio Auction Up To $149,000

Paris, Tenn.–Today was another big day at the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, with $12,000 raised by the Whitlock community. That brings the grand total to date to some $149,000.

The community raised $11,567 during today’s auction and donations from members of the audience raised the total to $12,000. There were 23 slates of items, many of them dedicated to the late Willie Greer.

Wendy Barnhart was the auctioneer and the Business and Professional Women manned the phones.

Donating items for Monday’s auction is New Harmony Baptist, Heritage Center, Henry County Historical Society, HCHS Band Boosters and Inman Band.

Tuesday’s items are donated by Joe Mahan Ford, First Presbyterian Church, New Boston community, the Jolly Women’s Club and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Helping Hand runs from January 8 through February 28 and raises thousands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit and public service organizations. Last year was a banner year, with a record-setting $519,630 raised.
