Cottage Grove, Tenn.–No one was injured in a plane crash at the Henry County Airport and the FAA has been contacted to investigate.

Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey said his department received a call at 6:17 p.m. informing them of an aircraft accident.

Upon arrival,  deputies located a small aircraft flipped upside down in the grassy area between Hwy. 69 N and the end of the runway at the airport.

Contact was made with both the pilot and passenger getting out of the plane and both were unharmed.

According to the pilot, the aircraft lost engine power and a landing was attempted. During the landing attempt the fence surrounding the airport was struck which caused the aircraft to flip.

Other agencies responding to the scene were Cottage Grove/Whitlock Fire Department and Henry County EMS.
