Mr. Luther Hayward Pepper

Mr. Luther Hayward Pepper, 70, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at Tennova Healthcare, Clarksville, Tennessee.

He was born Thursday, October 29, 1953, in Stewart County, Tennessee, son of the late Leon Wallace Pepper and Meredith Claxton Pepper. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Edwin Pepper, Frank Pepper, Marvin Pepper, and Allen Pepper.

Mr. Pepper worked at Averitt Lumber Company in Clarksville, Tennessee, and at AC Custom Millworks in Big Rock, Tennessee.

Luther was a member of the Patterson’s Chapel Pentecostal Church in Van Leer, Tennessee.

He loved woodworking and tending to his yard.

He was a beloved husband, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife: Anna Marie Crissinger Pepper, whom he married Monday, April 16, 1990. Other survivors include his brother: Claude Pepper, of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee; sisters: Jewel Blake, of Mt. Morris, Illinois, Paulette Owen, of Paris, Tennessee, and Gracie Barker, of Carlisle, Tennessee; sister-in-law: Francie Pepper, of Greenbriar, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Anglin Funeral Home and will continue Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The funeral service for Mr. Pepper will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Anglin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Baggett and Bro. Brian Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow in the Heflin Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Anna Pepper to assist with final expenses.
