
Paris, Tenn.–One person from Henry County has died due to the weather.
The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) has confirmed 14 people have died as a result of this week’s winter storm, including the man in Henry County.
Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey told RadioNWTN that Aaron Hoover, age 64, was found dead outside by his vehicle on Palestine Rd. yesterday. It appears that Hoover died in the wintry elements overnight, he said. “The case still is under investigation,” he said.
One death is reported in Carroll County, but no details are available.
According to the latest update from the Tennessee Emergency Management Association (TEMA), five were reported in Shelby County, one in Hickman County, one in Madison County, two in Washington County, one in Carroll County, one in Knox County, one in Lauderdale County, one in Van Buren County and one in Henry County.
On Wednesday, Jan. 17, TEMA Director Patrick C. Sheehan, on behalf of Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, declared a State of Emergency to provide commercial vehicles transporting livestock, poultry, and feed for the livestock and poultry relief from hours of service until 3:59 p.m. Jan. 27.
