Henry County General Government offices including the Courthouse, Courthouse Annex, Airport, Central Building, Recycling Center and Henry County Health Dept will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 due to continuing winter weather
County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway said, “Secondary roads, parking lots and sidewalks remain hazardous due to a layer of ice below the snow. The extreme cold temperatures are causing any thawing to refreeze overnight. To be safe as possible, we will close county government offices again on Wednesday.” Ridgeway wants to remind everyone, the county commission meeting scheduled for this afternoon has been rescheduled for next Monday, January 22. County offices including courts will resume regular hours on Thursday, January 18.
Republic Services also announced county trash pick-up will not be able to run on Tuesday due to the weather and streets being hazardous.
The schedule as of this morning is as follows:
Monday customers will be serviced next Monday, January 22 and the extra trash will be picked up. Tuesday through Friday customers will be serviced one day behind, Wed thru Sat.

Mike Wilson, Circuit Court Clerk wants to remind persons Court was canceled for Tuesday, January 16 and those who were scheduled to appear in Court on Tuesday January 16 and are represented by an attorney, should contact their attorney to ask about their new court date(s).
Those who are representing themselves without an attorney are rescheduled for Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
No new subpoenas or summons will be issued related to the cancellation. It will be the responsibility of the defendant to contact their attorney or the court clerk to learn of their new date.
There is no Circuit Court or Juvenile Court planned for this week in Henry County, so no rescheduling is necessary.
