
Marshall County, Ky.–The body of the man who presumably jumped from the top of the Tennessee River Bridge has been found.
Curt Curtner, director of the Marshall County Emergency Management, announced the discovery Saturday afternoon.
The Marshall County Rescue Squad earlier suspended its search after days of searching by land and water. Marshall County law enforcement was dispatched to the bridge around 9:30 p.m. December 26. The missing man was identified as a 41-year-old man from Gilbertsville.
The missing man has been identified as Wesley Augustino, age 41, of Gilbertsville, Ky.
Curtner issued a statement today: “Marshall County Rescue Squad would like to thank the Community Christian Organization that came in and provided assistance and discovered the lost person in the Tennessee River. Once identification was made, our diver with marshallcountyrescuesquad went into the water to recover the victim. We would like to also thank McCracken County Rescue for coming up to provide assistance-Marshall County Ambulance Service for being on scene for our divers and Marshall County KY Sheriff’s Office and Calvert City Police Department for keeping the scene secure. Marshall Co Emergency Management Agency for the support and being on scene with us. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends during this time.”
