
After being able to run for a few days, the Dorena-Hickman Ferry is again closed due to low water on the Mississippi River.
Water levels on the Mississippi River have again dropped below the bottom of the landing ramp in Hickman Harbor and at Dorena, forcing the ferry to halt operation.
This morning, the Cairo Gauge was at 13.47 at 7 a.m., just below the 14 ft. reading generally required for the ferry to operate.
The river forecast indicates the ferry could be able to resume service late in the week.
The Dorna-Hickman Ferry is closed. The ferry and KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely notice when service is able to resume.

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects KY 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky, with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri.
