Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction had great first day, raising $7, 835. .
A total 180 items were donated by Lakeway Kiwanis and the Paris Lions Club. Helping Hand runs from January 8 through February 28 and raises thousands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit and public service organizations. Last year was a banner year, with a record-setting $519,630 raised.
Auctioneers kicking things off today were Andy Collins and Jamie Orr, with the Alpha Delphian group manning the phones.
On Tuesday, organizations donating items will be: Henry Co. Fair Association, Henry County Farmers Market, Masonic/OES Martha Chapter, First United Pentacostal Church and Moose Lodge. Auctioneer will be Junior Staggs and the Kiwanis Club will man the phones.
The auction starts at 12:30 p.m. and you can listen on our station WHNY 104.7 FM/ 1000 AM. Or you can watch on the Helping Hand website. Auction phone is 731-644-1695.
