Paris, Tenn.–A man and his wife walking through the woods on Friday made a gruesome discovery.
The couple were cutting through a wooded area near Russell Street just before sunset yesterday, when they saw human remains near a tree. The couple then went to a local business and had them call the police.
Paris Police officers arrived and contacted the Henry County Coroner’s office as well as its investigators. The scene was investigated and there were no obvious signs of foul play observed.
The remains were collected and sent to the Medical Examiner’s office in Nashville.
The investigation is ongoing and as of now the remains have yet to be identified.
