Charles “Chuck” N. Raymer, Sr.

Charles “Chuck” N. Raymer, Sr., 80, of Paris, Tennessee, died Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at his residence.

Chuck was born Sunday, January 31, 1943, in Lafe, Arkansas, to the late James A. Raymer and the late Ida Grace Fitts Raymer. 

He formerly worked at Salant & Salant and Holly Carburetor in Paris, then eventually retired from Kellwood as a supervisor.  

He loved music and played the guitar and piano and won several talent contests.  

Chuck enjoyed playing marbles, fishing, golfing, and was a baseball fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.  

He was a member of the Apostolic Chapel in Paris.

He was married Thursday, April 3, 2003, to Peggy McClain Raymer, who preceded him in death. 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter: Rita Jean Raymer; and three siblings.

He is survived by three children: Charles Noel “Chuck” (Sheri) Raymer, Jr., of Paris, Tennessee, Clint Raymer, of Paris, Tennessee, and Angela Raymer, of Paris, Tennessee; one sister: Barbara Thompson (Charles) Bennett, of Paris, Tennessee; two brothers: Gene Raymer, of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Larry (Linda) Raymer, of Paris, Tennessee; nine grandchildren: Devan (Hannah) Raymer, Brandon Vasseur, Charlie Raymer, Jalen King, Bryce Raymer, Dalton Raymer, Taylor Johnson, Myla Brooks, and C.J. Warren; and one great-grandson: Jack Raymer.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242

Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Richard “Soup” Raymer officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Devan Raymer, Brandon Vasseur, Jeff Thompson, Bryce Raymer, Dalton Raymer, Jalen King, and Richard “Soup” Raymer.  Named as honorary pallbearers are: Don Nichols, Larry Raymer, and Billy Raymer.

Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee.
