Robert E. McClure

Robert E. McClure, 78, of Paris, Tennessee, died Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.

Robert was born Saturday, February 10, 1945, in the Como community of Henry County, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Linzy McClure and the late Bertha Lavelle Parker McClure. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Lowery and Jettie Hendrix; and one brother: Howard McClure.

He loved working in construction with heavy equipment and formerly worked at Holly Carburetor Plant in Paris.  

Afterward, he worked as a self-employed electrician for over 40 years.  

Robert was an avid Civil War buff and collector who enjoyed reading about Civil War history and searching for Civil War memorabilia. 

 He also loved collecting and trading pocketknives.    

He was married Monday, February 21, 1966, to his wife of 57 years: Patricia Taylor McClure, of Paris, Tennessee, who survives.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by his daughter: Tami (Jerry) Nance, of Puryear, Tennessee; his son: Mark (Kim) McClure, of Tullahoma, Tennessee; one brother: James McClure, of Como, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Savannah (Ronnie) May, Todd (Beth) McClure, Dustin Fletcher, and Jayna (Steven) Schwartz; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, TN 38242. 

Visitation will be Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Brian Wimberley officiating.

 Serving as pallbearers will be: Jamie Perkins, Matt Goetz, Michael Hendrix, Paul Hendrix, Randy Hendrix, and Mark Hendrix. Named as honorary pallbearers are: Jerry Taylor and Chris Hendrix.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee.
