Flames Shoot Out Of Ground After Gas Line Hit

Henry, Tenn.–The Henry Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched on a report of a gas line being hit and on fire around the 600 block of Old State Route 76.

Three engines responded to the scene with six firefighters to find flames shooting from the ground with a boring machine at risk of catching fire.

Fire officials said, “Our team kept the machine cooled down until we were able to work with the operators to move the machine from the exposure area. West Tennessee Public Utility District responded to the scene where their team located the gas line and closed it off. Also on scene was Henry County Emergency Management, Paris Board of Public Utilities, and Henry County Sheriff’s Office.”

No injuries were reported.
