Paris, Tenn.–Pancake Day 2023 was a wonderful success, with the community raising over $13,500 for the Carl Perkins Center and the children of Henry County. The event was held all day Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Paris and volunteers took turns manning the giant griddle that has been used for it for years. Carl Perkins Director Carly Wheat said, “That old griddle still shows out and makes the best pancakes!” Wheat thanked the community for coming through for the kids of the county as well as thanked to the board members, center staff, and volunteers. “It takes a team to pull off an all day fundraiser and their dedication does not go unnoticed,” she said. Since 2013, Pancake Day has raised thousands of dollars for services such as trauma therapy, victim advocacy, forensic interviews, food and hygiene pantry, nurturing parenting and other programs of the center.
