Jerald “Jerry” Lamar Henderson, 86, of Paris, Tennessee, died Sunday, October 22, 2023, at his residence.
Jerry was born Friday, September 10, 1937, in Henry County, Tennessee, to the late Elvis Henderson and the late Onie Green Henderson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son: Jerry Stephen “Steve” Henderson; one sister: Glenda Bush; and four brothers: Carlos Henderson, Nailor Henderson, Gaylon Henderson, and Don Henderson.
In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing.
He retired after several years from General Motors.
Jerry loved music and was a former member of a gospel band, where he enjoyed playing the bass.
He attended the Paris Community of Christ.
He was married Sunday, August 21, 1955, to Martha Snyder Henderson, who survives, of Paris, Tennessee.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by one grandson: Justin (Colleen) Henderson, of Clinton Township, Michigan; and two great grandchildren: Clara Henderson and Jacob Henderson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Dale Gallimore and Phil Boyd officiating.
Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Garden in Paris, Tennessee.
