Jimmy Boyd, 82, of Buchanan, died Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Benton, Kentucky, at the home of his companion and special friend of 15 years: Nova Peck.
Born Sunday, September 14, 1941, in Paris, he was the son of the late William “Willie” C. Boyd and the late Etna Jones Boyd.
Jimmy worked for several years in the clay industry operating a front-end loader.
He enjoyed square dancing, tinkering with anything that had a motor, and camping and horseback riding, before his health declined.
Jimmy loved spending time with his family and was especially fond of his great-granddaughter: Belle.
Jimmy married Jackie Jackson Boyd Saturday, March 16, 1968, who preceded him in death Wednesday, March 14, 2007.
Survivors include his son: Terry Boyd, of Buchanan; grandchildren: Drew (Ashton) Boyd, of Buchanan, and Olivia (Ethan) Dicus, of Paris; a sister: Betty Carter, of Paris, and a great-granddaughter: Belle Boyd.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jimmy was also preceded in death by a son: Tim Boyd; four sisters: Eva Pierce, Beatrice Cook, Allene Clayton, and Myrtle Canady; and two brothers: Leon Boyd and Willie Gene Boyd.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242, will be handling the arrangements.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., and continue Thursday, October 19, 2023, after 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will follow the service in the Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.
