Elizabeth Joan Bogard

Elizabeth Joan Bogard, 85, of Dover, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Dover Care Center with her loving family by her side.

She was born Tuesday, August 23, 1938, daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Lykins and Clarice (Johnson) Lykins.

Joan was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

She loved God, her family and her friends.

She will be remembered for always speaking her mind and enjoying time with her friends and family.

Joan was an avid supporter of the Stewart County Football Team.

She enjoyed living in her community was proud to be a resident of Stewart County.

The love and laughter she shared with others will last a lifetime.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Walter Edward “Ed” Bogard; son-in-law: Steve Cornett; sister: Debbie Evans; brothers: Danny Lykins, Bobby Lykins, and Kenneth Lykins; grandson: Matthew Hale; and great granddaughter: Grace Hale.

Joan is survived by her beloved children: Teresa Cornett, Scott Bogard, Bryan Bogard (Barbie), and Kathy Swartz (Chris); her devoted brother: Jerry Lykins( Janie); her cherished grandchildren: David Bogard, Krystyna Moffitt (Robert), Krystal Harmon (Jack), Chanz Swartz (Jane), Lauren Jackson (Jamie), Nicolas Bogard, and Maddie Bogard; and her idolized great grandchildren: Sydney Moffitt, Natalie Moffitt, Logan Moffitt, Rochelle Harmon, Jade Harmon, Kayla Harmon, Luke Harmon, Dallas Swartz, Aiden Hale, and Landry Swartz.

Visitation will be Monday, October 16, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023, at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church with Brother Steve Phillips and Brother Brice Darnell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Page Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Swartz, Chanz Swartz, David Bogard, Nicolas Bogard, Jamie Jackson, and Jack Harmon.
