Smiling recipients and beaming family members were a part of Top Tornado ceremonies at Union City Elementary School Wednesday morning.
Four groups of UCES students and 84 children in all were honored by receiving the prestigious award for the first nine weeks of the 2023-24 school year in two separate assemblies.
Students in Pre-K through 2nd grade are recognized quarterly based on behavior, work ethic, and kindness to others. Two or three members of each class in every grade are honored with the accolade.
UCES administrators presided over the ceremonies and presented each recipient with a certificate, noting the accomplishment, and a Top Tornado button.
