Union City, Tenn.–Briley McKinney and Bailey Wagoner earned places on the medal stand for the Union City High School cross country team on Tuesday.
McKinney and Wagoner each finished in the Top 20 at the Best of the West Meet at Obion County Central.
McKinney was timed at 24:30 to finish 14th in a field of 107 runners. Wagoner (25:09) placed 18th.
The winning time was 21:25.
There were 177 runners representing 20 schools in the boys’ competition.
Rushdon Howell (20:18) was UC’s top finisher at 29th. Woodrow McKinnis (21:01) came in 35th, and Cory Gentry (24:22) placed 82nd.
Also competing for the Tornadoes were Tabor Hall (26:06) and Colton Gary (29:53).
The winner crossed the finish line at 17:40.
Union City runners will compete at Crockett County next Tuesday.

Milan 3, UC 0
The Lady Tornadoes saw their season end at the hands of regular season district champion Milan in the 13A tournament semifinals.
The Lady Bulldogs won 25-4, 25-11, and 25-16.
Madie Theobald had four blocks for UC. Gracelyn Sims finished with three blocks and a kill, while Debrionna Jones had an ace and a kill.
Addison Carr served up an ace, and Clare Atwill had a kill.
Union City finished the season with a 7-14 record.
