Bicentennial Finale To Feature History, Exhibits, Beards & More

Paris, Tenn.–Kick off the day Saturday with the Paris/Henry County Bicentennial Finale, which begins at 9 a.m. in downtown Paris. The Finale will be opened with presentations and proclamations from Paris Mayor Kathy Ray and County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway, followed by a Revolutionary War roll call by County Historian David Webb. The Bicentennial Committee will be placing a marker to the local Revolutionary War soldiers on the courthouse lawn at a later date.

Exhibits will be open that feature Paris history, Paris military history and the history of Whitlock and Birds Creek Baptist Church, which are 102 years old. Vendor booths will be set up selling Bicentennial merchandise. Exhibits will be set up until noon.

The Bicentennial Beard contest will be held at 10 a.m.

Arts ‘Round the Square will also be held in downtown Paris tomorrow.
