Susan Lorene Shankle Paschall, 75, of Puryear, Tennessee, died Monday, September 25, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Susan was born Monday, December 29, 1947, in Paris, Tennessee, to the late Hubert W. Shankle and the late Thelma Thompson Shankle, who lived in Buchanan, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Janice Louise Shankle; and one brother-in-law, Bill Snow.
She was a 1965 graduate of Buchanan High School.
Susan worked at Salant & Salant in the shipping office until its closing in 1980.
Afterward, she operated a daycare out of her home in Puryear, where she took care of children as if they were her own.
Susan was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a member of Puryear Baptist Church.
She was married Saturday, October 14, 1972, to her husband of 50 years: Donald E. Paschall, who survives, of Puryear, Tennessee.
Along with her husband, she is also survived by two daughters: Shannon (Rob) Zolnowski, of Lancaster, New York, and Heather (Ben) Hall, of Kingstree South Carolina; two sisters: Naomi (Jim) Scarbrough, of Buchanan, Tennessee, and Doris Snow, of Paris, Tennessee; and five grandchildren: Emma Zolnowski, Audrey Zolnowski, Hannah Hall, Bethany Hall, and Violet Hall.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Puryear Baptist Church, 10060 Highway 641 N, Puryear, Tennessee, 38251.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Puryear Baptist Church, with Dewayne Chadwick and Chad Kennedy officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Aldridge, Brian Aldridge, Scott Aldridge, Bert Snow, Eric Snow, and Corey Scarbrough. Named as honorary pallbearers are Derek Paschall and Jamie Scarbrough Mash.
Burial will be in Foundry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Puryear, Tennessee.
