Huntingdon, Tenn.–A huge crowd gathered in downtown Huntingdon Saturday to sing along with the Oak Ridge Boys for their free performance at the annual Heritage Festival. The Oak Ridge Boys announced last week this is their last hurrah, as they embark on their “American Made: The Farewell Tour.” The Oak Ridge Boys performed a free concert in downtown Paris in 2021. Saturday was day filled with activities, with dozens of vendors, train rides through town, pony rides, good food, antique car show, live music and more. Officials at the Dixie Carter Center for the Performing Arts said, “We’re going to be reliving today for a long time. What a special festival! We are so grateful for our community & its support and for all of the vendors and town employees who spent many months preparing for this event!” They thanked the Tennessee Arts Commission for its financial contributions to making the festival a success and Joel Washburn of the McKenzie Banner, who was the official photographer.
