Mitchell Anthony “Mitch” Claunch, 62, of Puryear, Tennessee, died Friday, September 22, 2023, at his residence.
Mitch was born Friday, February 17, 1961, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Ronald Allen Claunch and Evelyn Leigh Nauglebaugh Claunch, who both survive, of Sarasota, Florida.
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran, serving in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield.
Mitch enjoyed RVing and traveling around the U.S. and the world.
He loved college football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
He enjoyed music and Ford Mustangs.
He was married Friday, July 19, 1985, to his wife of 38 years: Julie Ann Ertzner Claunch, who survives, of Puryear, Tennessee.
Along with his wife and parents, he is also survived by one son: Matthew Anthony Claunch, of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister: Linda (Chip) Holterhoff, of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother: Ron Claunch, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by one sister: Robin Stark.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.
The body is to be cremated with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
