Paris, Tenn.–Paris City Commission has called a special meeting for Thursday afternoon for continued discussion and possible action on the non-compliance issue involving a sidewalk on Volunteer Drive. The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at City Hall.
The matter was discussed at length at the September 7 City Commission meeting.
According to City officials, “City staff recently met with the builder who modified the City’s sidewalk leaving it noncompliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. He is still not willing to make any corrections to the noncompliant sidewalk nor is he willing to engage an engineer to evaluate possible options.”
At Thursday’s meeting, “City Attorney Smith will again present the options open to the City to correct the compliance issue and the Commission will be asked to determine which option it feels staff should take to resolve this issue.”
