
Billie “Ray” Flowers, 84, of Buchanan, Tennessee, died Monday, September 18, 2023, at his residence.
Ray was born Wednesday, March 15, 1939, in Cottage Grove, Tennessee, to the late Herman Flowers and the late Bonnie Owen Long. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son: Michael Flowers; one sister: Vernell Emerson; one brother: James Flowers; and two grandchildren: Michael Flowers and Megan Flowers.
He was a longtime mechanic for Bluegrass Auto Transport.
Ray was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Buchanan, where he sung and served as song leader for over 30 years. He loved playing the guitar.
He was married Monday, August 10, 1970, to Nancy Roberts Flowers, who survives, of Buchanan, Tennessee.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by four children: Teresa (Robert) Snider, of Sebewaing, Michigan, Cindy McNutt, of Buchanan, Tennessee, Codee Caler, of Buchanan, Tennessee, and Greg (Felicia) Flowers, of Camden, Tennessee; three sisters: Ramona Bell, of Paris, Tennessee, Shirley Bennett, of Springville, Tennessee, and Diane Potts, of Buchanan, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and will continue Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Mike White officiating.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be in Starks Cemetery in Buchanan, Tennessee.
