Felon Wanted In Obion County Apprehended

Union City, Tenn.–Agents with the West Tennessee Drug Task Force, Newbern Police, Dyer County Sheriff’s Office and the Obion County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a wanted felon.
Michael Shane McCullough was wanted for parole violation out of Obion County, as well as warrants pending out of Kentucky. He is being hed for felony evading, drug paraphernalia and accessory after the fact.
The incident began when McCullough reportedly fled from Newbern Police.
Newbern Police Department worked on several leads attempting to locate McCullough and his girlfriend, Susan Anderson.
On September 14, 2023, an Agent with the Drug Task Force located McCullough who fled into Obion County by vehicle; McCullough abandoned his vehicle and fled into the woods. Deputies from the Obion County Sheriff’s Department and the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department arrived and assisted in attempting to locate McCullough.
However, due to the rough terrain and nightfall, McCullough was unable to be located at that time.
On September 15, 2023, Agents and Investigators with the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department received information that the vehicle that had fled had regularly been seen at a house in Dyer County. Agents, Investigators and Patrol Deputies arrived at the house and ultimately took McCullough and Anderson into custody. McCullough is being held for Felony Evading x2, Violation of Parole, and pending warrants out of Kentucky. Anderson is also charged with evading, drug paraphernalia and accessory after the fact.
