Shirley L. Perry, 83, of Buchanan, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Henry County Healthcare Center.
Shirley was born Monday, October 2, 1939, in Hastings. Michigan, to the late Leslie Raber and Rosemary Cronk Raber in Hastings, Michigan. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother: Roger Raber, and a sister: Alice Raber.
She enjoyed playing bridge with her long-time Bridge Club friends in Dresden, TN. She loved fishing with Jim on Kentucky Lake.
While at home, Shirley enjoyed watching the birds and butterflies from her kitchen window and drinking her morning cup of coffee while playing a game or two of solitaire. Shirley loved being outside and planting and tending to her flowers.
She was always up for a shopping trip or a vacation with friends. In her retirement, Shirley was most happy on the golf course and keeping the bird feeders stocked at the Paris Landing State Park golf course.
Her family and friends will always remember her for her infectious laugh and incredible smile.
She married Jim Perry, the love of her life, 55 years ago on September 23, 1967, and he survives of Buchanan, TN.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is also survived by her daughter: Michelle (Jason) Arant, of Martin, TN; two sons: Scott Carter, of Dyersburg, TN, and Michael (Sarah) Perry, of Hilton Head, SC; a sister: Judy Raber of MI; and three grandchildren: Mason Arant, Audrey Perry, and Olivia Perry.
Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN 38242 beginning at 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, and continue at Bowlin Funeral Home 279 W. Main St., Dresden, TN 38225, at 2:00 pm. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 4:00pm at Bowlin Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
