Paris, Tenn.–After a hearing before the Paris Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Thursday night, board members voted to suspend the beer sales permit for Westwood Market for one week. Westwood is located at 45 Hwy. 69 in Paris.

Paris Police Inspector Derrek Colley testified that beer and a tobacco vaping product was sold to a 19-year-old June 22 during a compliance check.

During the meeting, it was noted that this is the first violation for the store since it opened. Westwood has until August 28 to notify city officials whether it will pay a $500 fine or accept the suspension.

Also during the meeting, City Administrative Assistant Jessica Crouch notified the board that the yearlong suspension imposed on the Dollar General on E. Wood St. is now over and the store will be receiving a new license.
