Did you know TBI maintains an open investigation into the death of #PaulinePusser? She was murdered 56 years ago in McNairy County, where her husband, #BufordPusser, was sheriff.
Pauline was fatally shot on August 12, 1967. She was in the car with her husband on the way to a disturbance call in the early morning hours. He was also shot, in the chin, but survived.
There are historical markers noting the sites of the two reported ambush sites near the Tennessee-Mississippi state line.
There have been rumors of who could be behind the shootings, but no one has ever been arrested or charged. We believe there are individuals who have vital information that could help bring Pauline’s killer to justice.
