
Paris, Tenn.–A 10-year-old child died as a result of the fire that destroyed a home on Hwy. 69S outside of Paris this morning.
Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey said a 911 call was received at 9:07 a.m. of the house fire at 2155 Highway 69S.
Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office along with Henry County EMS, Oakland, Springville, Paris and Mansfield Fire Departments responded to the scene.
Once on the scene, personnel learned that a 10-year-old child was still in the home and personnel began to attempt entry to find the child. Personnel did locate the child inside the home and the child was transported to the Henry County Medical Center where the child was pronounced deceased due to possible smoke inhalation.
Frey said, “The case remains under investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and TBI. No foul play is suspected.”
