MCKENZIE, Tenn. –Two Bethel University softball players just returned from a trip to Italy where they played on the USA Athlete International softball team.
Maddie Locke and Emma Johnson represented Bethel and the USA. The USA squad played three games against the Rovigo team. The USA won the first two games played and lost game three in a nine-inning classic.
Locke commented, “It was an honor for both of us. We had so much fun getting to play internationally while meeting new people and getting to visit exciting cities such as Venice, Verona, Comacchio, Rovigo and Rome. It was definitely a trip we will never forget, getting to learn their culture and teach them a little bit about ours. We were so very grateful to represent Bethel and the USA in Italy. “
Locke, from Dalton, Georgia will be a senior this year. Johnson, from Poplar Bluff, Missouri will be a junior this season.
