Paris, Tenn.–As School Resource Officer Deputy Sgt. Michelle Brewer always says, it really does take a village and the village turned out Saturday to ensure that the annual Back to School Bash would run smoothly. Dozens and dozens of volunteers start working the night before, stocking backpacks with all the school supplies that will be needed this school year and on Saturday, the backpacks were handed out at a drive-thru set up at the Henry County Fairgrounds. All of the items are donated each year. Becky Holland of the Family Resource Center said 790 backpacks were handed out Saturday, with 160 more to be delivered to the local schools for students who may have missed the event. She said if parents missed the Back to School Bash, they will need to request a backpack from their school.
