James Damon “J.D.” Lane

James Damon “J.D.” Lane, 85, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at his residence.

J.D. was born Friday, July 1, 1938, to the late Damon Lane and the late Rose Gibson Lane. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, James Terry Lane; and five brothers and sisters.

He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church.

 J.D. enjoyed wood-working, flea marketing, and loved people.

He was one of the first to retire from Celotex, in Paris, where he had worked for many years.

He was married Saturday, May 18, 1957, to Barbara Ann Ricketts Lane, who survives, of Cottage Grove, TN.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters: Tammie A. (John) Lee, of Jackson, TN, and Alice Sharee (Edward) Bush, of Cottage Grove, TN; two sons: Damon A. (Holly) Lanem of Paris, TN, and Rocky Montell (Shellie) Lanem of Cottage Grove, TN; one daughter-in-law: Annette Lane, of Como, TN; one sister:Barbara Lane, of Alabama; 44 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A private service was held at Lane-Bush Cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
