Dresden, Tenn.–The 20th annual Good Ole Gospel Singing will be held this Friday night, July 21, starting at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Dresden.
This singing, emceed by Bro. Wayne Perkins, features Southern Gospel music at its finest, blending the convention-type songs that many of us in the Baby Boomer (and older) generation grew up listening to, with the newest solo/quartet music from recent years.
Among the special guest artists this year will once again be Matthew Holt from McKenzie, who plays piano for the world-famous Gaither Vocal Band. He will lead the praise band, which will provide accompaniment for the hymns and many of those bringing special music.
Award-winning recording soloist Joan Gregory from Alamo will also once again join us, as well as our own Goodtime Singers quartet, along with numerous others, including members of the Perkins, Bates, Verdell and Garner families, known throughout the area for many years for their gospel music singing and legacy.
