Tony and Emmy Award Winner Cherry Jones of Paris has been nominated for another Emmy: this time for Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the critically-acclaimed series ‘Succession’.
Jones is a five-time Tony Award nominee and two-time winner in the Best Actress category for “The Heiress” in 1995 and “Doubt” in 2005 and she’s been nominated for Emmys four times and won three of them so far: in the Drama Supporting Actress category for ’24’ in 2009; as Drama Guest Actress for ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ in 2019; and Drama Guest Actress in 2020 for ‘Succession’.
Jones was nominated this year alongside these other actresses: Hiam Abbass (Succession); Melanie Lynskey (The Last of Us); Storm Reid (The Last of Us); Anna Torv (The Last of Us); Harriet Walter (Succession)
In order to be eligible for this year’s awards, TV shows had to have aired between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023.
The 75th annual Primetime Emmys are currently set to air live from the Peacock Theater (formerly the Microsoft Theater) on Monday, Sept. 18, from 8-11 p.m. ET on Fox, but it’s very possible the awards will be delayed due to the TV writers and actors on strike.
