Paris, Tenn.–The new Henry County History Book Bicentennial Celebration Edition has arrived.
The 250-page book is dedicated to long-time County Archivist Stephanie Tayloe, who not only worked hard on the book itself, but works every day to preserve Henry County history.
The book was laid out by Assistant Archivist Beth Fay, who was praised by Tayloe. “I want to make sure people realize just how much work Beth put into this. She’s the one who edited it and made sure that all the photos were good quality and she laid out the book, too.”
The new history book was a major undertaking of the Paris/Henry County Bicentennial Committee, which began collecting photos and histories for it in 2021. The books provide a detailed history of Henry County, its communities, businesses, churches and schools, as well as hundreds of family biographies and nearly 600 photographs, maps and illustrations.
The books will be distributed from the County Archives beginning Monday, July 17, during regular business hours Monday through Friday of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone who ordered a book can pick it up during those hours.
Tayloe said there probably will be extra books available for purchase at $75, but they don’t know how many extras will be available yet.
The phone number for the County Archives is 731 642 3638. The Archives is located in the old Weston Hall Building on Grove Hill, 215 Grove Blvd., Paris.
