David Robert Hart, 96, of Paris, Tennessee, longtime resident of Memphis, Tennessee, died Friday, June 30, 2023, at West Tennessee Healthcare Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
David was born Wednesday, August 11, 1926, in Henry County, Tennessee, to the late Willie V. Hart and the late Clessie Estelle Enoch Hart. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five brothers: William “Bill” Hart, Benjamin “Bud” Hart, Gene Hart, Gerald Hart, and Kenneth Hart.
He retired from Schering-Plough in Memphis, Tennessee, after 31 years as a machinist.
He enjoyed yard work, being a master craftsman at woodworking, and loved his family.
He was married Friday, July 7, 1950, to Annette Smith Hart, who preceded him in death Saturday, December 6, 1997.
He is survived by David Randall “Randy” (Yvonne) Hart, of Selmer, TN, and Robert (Wanda) Hart, of Bartlett, TN; four sisters: Joyce Wofford, of McKenzie, TN, Margaret Stoner, of McKenzie, TN, Lois (Hugh) Pinson, of Mansfield, TN, and Gayle (Danny) Beasley, of Horn Lake, MS; three grandchildren: April (John) Henley, Aaron (Amanda) Hart, and Ryan (Hannah) Hart; four great-grandchildren: Carson Hamm, Zeke Hart, Zella Hart, and Zack Hart; special friend: Betty Lanius; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, TN. Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, and continue Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Sunday July 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with John Sutton officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Hart, Ryan Hart, Steve Hart, Tony Hart, Danny Beasley, and Carson Hamm.
Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Paris, TN.
